Slack integration

Capture Slack threads as Mimir sources without leaving your conversation.

What it does

The Slack integration lets you import conversations directly into Mimir. When you mention @Mimir in a Slack thread, the entire thread is captured as a source in your most recently updated project — complete with participant names, timestamps, and reactions. No copy-pasting required.

Connecting your workspace

  1. 1

    Open settings

Navigate to Settings from the sidebar.
  2. 2

    Click Connect Slack

In the Slack section, click Connect Slack. This redirects you to Slack's authorization page.
  3. 3

    Authorize Mimir

Choose the workspace you want to connect and click Allow. You'll be redirected back to Settings with your workspace connected.
You can connect multiple workspaces. Each one appears in Settings with its own disconnect button.

Capturing threads

Once connected, mention @Mimir in any Slack thread to capture it. Here's what happens:

  1. 1

    Mimir acknowledges

Mimir reacts to your message with a brain emoji so you know it's working.
  2. 2

    Thread is imported

All messages in the thread are captured as a single source, formatted with participant names and timestamps. The source is added to your most recently updated project.
  3. 3

    Confirmation reply

Mimir replies in the thread with a confirmation message showing how many messages were imported and a link to view the source in Mimir.

Channel messages

If you mention @Mimir outside of a thread (in the main channel), the most recent message is captured as a source.

Automatic processing

Imported threads are classified and extracted just like any other source. They'll appear in your next analysis run.

Changing the target project

By default, captured threads go to your most recently updated project. If that's not the right one, click the Wrong project? Change button on the confirmation message. Mimir shows a project picker so you can move the source to a different project without leaving Slack.

Disconnecting

To disconnect a workspace, go to Settings and click Disconnect next to the workspace name. This removes the connection — Mimir will no longer respond to mentions in that workspace. Previously imported sources are not affected.

Tips

Best for feedback threads

Customer feedback discussions, bug reports, feature requests, and internal product debates all make great sources. The more context in the thread, the more Mimir can extract.

Works in public channels

Mimir needs to be able to read the channel to capture messages. It automatically joins public channels when mentioned. For private channels, invite the Mimir bot first.
